*When it comes to self doubt, I am the master. I painted this piece at the peak of my struggle with this monster. It took me hours to start this painting, I just sat there wanting to paint a circle and thus the war began. There is no way I was going to paint one big green circle on this canvas, that is way too easy. Self doubt is my enemy, and enemies are complicated and detailed. So, at the brink of my anger, I slopped on a big green circle, right in the middle of the canvas. The movement of the circle sucked me in and I kept circling with different shades of green. Circling and circling, mixing some blue in and circling. The movement was in anger due to the simplicity of this energy. I finished the outer circle and moved to the center bronzes and reds. As I put the red on my brush and finished the painting, I got it... self doubt is this simple. Nobody else is involved but you. You are the one throwing out doubt and the doubt circles back to you, over and over. It doesn't matter how big or small the circle of doubt is, it faithfully comes right back to you.
